/ history
We opened Isla House in the centre of Mahón to create the sort of coworking space we wanted ourselves. A calm place to work, with good coffee, reliable internet, and interesting people around us.
As more people joined, the community grew naturally. We hosted regular events and Isla House became a base for a mix of year-round residents, founders, remote workers and people spending part of the year in Menorca.
By this point it was clear that many of the best parts of Isla House came from people seeing each other regularly. Members started collaborating on projects, sharing introductions, and helping each other in ways that rarely happen when everyone is simply passing through.
After some thought, we decided to make two months the minimum membership, bringing an end to day passes and shorter-term memberships. It wasn't about exclusivity — it was simply recognising what had made Isla House work.
Some of our members are here throughout the year, while others return to Menorca for several months each summer, year after year. Over time, familiar faces become neighbours, colleagues and friends.
We value a smaller community of people who know each other — or who genuinely want to become part of it.
Today, Isla House continues to be a place for people building businesses, working remotely and enjoying life in Menorca. The desks matter, but the people have always been the reason the space works.
